chondroma

Benign cartilage tumor

A chondroma is a benign tumor composed of cartilage, typically found in bones of the hands, feet, or near joints.

These slow-growing growths rarely cause problems unless they press on surrounding structures: The X-ray revealed a chondroma in her finger.

Plural: chondromas or chondromata.
