rebadge

Apply new branding

To rebadge something is to put a new name or brand on it while keeping the underlying product essentially the same.

The term comes from automotive manufacturing, where one company's vehicle is sold under another brand with minimal changes: The SUV was rebadged and sold as a luxury model.

The practice extends to any product or service given superficial rebranding: They rebadged the software and doubled the price.
