rebadging
New name, same product
Rebadging is relabeling a product under a different brand name without substantially changing it.
The practice is common in the auto industry, where manufacturers sell essentially identical vehicles under different nameplates: The SUV was just a rebadged version of their competitor's model.
The term extends to any superficial rebranding that masks underlying sameness.
