rancher
Owns the herd
A rancher is someone who owns or operates a ranch—a large farm for raising livestock, especially cattle or sheep.
The term is most common in the American West and other regions with extensive grazing land: The rancher rode out to check on the herd.
Rancher can also refer to a ranch-style house, a single-story home with a long, low profile.
