Old West
Six-shooter territory
The Old West is the American frontier during the latter half of the nineteenth century, roughly from the California Gold Rush through the closing of the frontier around 1890.
The term evokes cowboys, outlaws, saloons, and gunfights—imagery shaped as much by Hollywood as by history.
He collected Old West memorabilia.
