flock

Congregation of sheep

A flock is a group of animals, especially birds or sheep, that stay together: a flock of geese, a flock of sheep.

The word extends to groups of people, particularly those under spiritual guidance—a pastor's flock.

To flock is to gather or move as a group: Tourists flock to the beaches in summer.

Separately, flock refers to tufts of fiber used for stuffing or creating textured surfaces on wallpaper and fabric.
