crop farmer
Plants for harvest
A crop farmer is someone who cultivates plants for harvest rather than raising livestock.
The term distinguishes grain, vegetable, and fruit producers from cattle ranchers, dairy farmers, or poultry operations: My grandfather was a crop farmer who grew wheat and soybeans.
Some farmers do both, but crop farmer specifies the agricultural focus.
