pigs
Mud-loving livestock
Pigs are stout, omnivorous mammals with flat snouts, raised for meat (pork, bacon, ham) or kept as pets.
The word extends to people who are greedy, messy, or gluttonous: He made a pig of himself at the buffet.
Pig is also derogatory slang for police officers.
To pig out is to eat excessively.
