outlier
Far-flung data point
An outlier is something that lies outside the main body or group.
In statistics, it's a data point that falls far from the cluster of other values: The $2 million home was an outlier in a neighborhood of modest houses.
More broadly, an outlier is anyone or anything markedly different from the norm—an exceptional case, an anomaly, a person who doesn't fit the pattern: She was an outlier among her peers, the only one who hadn't gone to college.
