normal distribution
Statistics' bell curve
A normal distribution is a probability distribution that forms a symmetric bell-shaped curve when graphed, with most values clustering around the mean and frequency tapering equally in both directions.
It describes many natural phenomena—height, blood pressure, measurement error—where extreme values are rare and middle values common.
Also called a Gaussian distribution or bell curve.
