lower bound
Smallest allowed amount
A lower bound is the smallest value that a quantity can take, or a value that a quantity is guaranteed to equal or exceed.
In mathematics, it marks a floor below which elements of a set cannot fall.
The term appears in algorithm analysis, where a lower bound describes the minimum resources (typically time) any solution must require.
The lower bound for comparison-based sorting is n log n.
