contrarian
Always argues against
A contrarian takes positions opposed to prevailing opinion, often deliberately.
The term applies especially in investing, where contrarians buy when others sell and vice versa, betting that the crowd is wrong.
More broadly, someone contrarian habitually argues the opposite side: He's such a contrarian—if you say it's hot, he'll insist it's cold.
