ostracizing
Casting someone out
Ostracizing is deliberately excluding someone from a group or community.
The practice can be formal—a professional organization expelling a member—or informal, as when classmates freeze someone out: After the rumor spread, they started ostracizing her.
The effect is social isolation, making the person feel unwelcome or invisible.
