narcos
Slang for dealers
Narcos is the plural of narco, slang for a drug trafficker or someone involved in the illegal drug trade, especially in Latin American contexts.
The word comes from Spanish, itself shortened from narcotraficante.
The narcos controlled the border region.
The term gained wider English currency through media coverage of cartel violence and the Netflix series of the same name.
