capo
String pitch shifter
A capo is a clamp placed across the strings of a guitar or similar instrument to raise the pitch uniformly, allowing different keys without changing fingering: She put a capo on the second fret.
Separately, capo is short for capofamiglia—the boss of a crime family or a high-ranking member of the Mafia.
