Medellín

Antioquia's capital city

Medellín is Colombia's second-largest city, situated in the Aburrá Valley of the Andes mountains.

Once notorious as the base of Pablo Escobar's cocaine cartel in the 1980s and early '90s, the city has since transformed into a hub of innovation and urban renewal.

We spent a week in Medellín exploring the metro and cable cars.
