Enclosed racing circuit
A motordrome is a rounded or circular track designed for motorcycle or automobile racing, typically featuring steeply banked walls that allow riders to travel at high speeds, sometimes nearly perpendicular to the ground.
In the early twentieth century, motordromes were popular spectacles at fairs and carnivals, where daredevil riders would circle the walls in defiance of gravity.
The term also applies more broadly to any enclosed arena or stadium built for motor sports.
