motorizing
Fitting with motors
Motorizing is the process of equipping something with a motor or engine, or converting it to motor power.
A city motorizing its fleet replaces horse-drawn vehicles or manual equipment with motorized versions.
The term applies to any shift toward mechanical propulsion: The army began motorizing its infantry divisions in the 1930s.
