microtrauma
Small tissue injury
Microtrauma is minor damage to body tissues—small tears in muscle fibers, stress to tendons, or subtle bone strain.
A single instance causes no significant injury, but repeated microtrauma accumulates into conditions like tendinitis or stress fractures: Years of microtrauma from running eventually caught up with her knees.
The term appears in sports medicine and occupational health contexts.
