flames
Dancing orange light
Flames are the visible, glowing part of a fire—tongues of burning gas that rise from combustible material.
The word extends to anything resembling fire's appearance or intensity: flames of orange and red in the autumn leaves.
To go down in flames is to fail spectacularly.
An old flame is a former romantic partner.
Online, to flame someone is to attack them with hostile messages: He got flamed for his controversial take.
