menoras

Nine-branched ritual holder

Menoras is a plural of menorah, the candelabrum used in Jewish worship.

The traditional menorah has seven branches; the Hanukkah menorah (also called a hanukkiah) has nine—one for each night of the festival plus a helper candle.

The synagogue displayed antique menoras from Eastern Europe.

Also spelled menorahs.
