lords and ladies
Woodland arum plant
Lords and ladies is a British wildflower (Arum maculatum) with a distinctive hooded flower surrounding a purple spike.
The plant has arrow-shaped leaves often spotted with dark markings.
It produces bright red berries in autumn, which are poisonous.
The name comes from the spike's resemblance to male and female figures.
Also called cuckoo pint or jack-in-the-pulpit.
