arum
Spathe-bearing woodland plant
Arum is a genus of plants with arrow-shaped leaves and a distinctive flower structure—a fleshy spike (spadix) wrapped in a hood-like bract (spathe).
The calla lily and jack-in-the-pulpit belong to the arum family.
Some species emit a rotting smell to attract pollinating flies.
