bluebloods
Old money types
Bluebloods are people of aristocratic or noble birth, or by extension, members of elite social circles.
The term comes from the visible blue veins beneath pale skin—a mark of those who didn't labor outdoors.
Now it often carries a hint of mockery: The country club is full of bluebloods who've never worked a day in their lives.
Also spelled blue bloods.
