landplanes
Ground-based flying machines
Landplanes are aircraft designed to take off and land on solid ground, as opposed to seaplanes or amphibious aircraft that operate on water.
The term distinguishes conventional wheeled aircraft from those with floats or boat-like hulls: The airfield accommodates landplanes only.
