jocks

Varsity letter wearers

Jocks is the plural of jock, a slang term for an athlete, especially one who fits the stereotype of being physically strong but not intellectually inclined: The jocks and the nerds sat at different tables.

Jock can also be short for jockstrap, the supportive undergarment worn during sports.

In British usage, Jock is informal for a Scottish person.
