entitled

Having rightful claim

Entitled means having a right or claim to something: She's entitled to half the estate.

A book or article entitled something has that as its title: a memoir entitled "My Life in Paris".

The word has developed a strongly negative sense describing someone who believes they deserve special treatment without earning it: entitled customers demanding refunds, an entitled attitude.

This pejorative use now dominates casual speech.
