brawn

Bulging bicep power

Brawn refers to muscular strength and power, especially of the kind developed through physical labor or training.

It often appears in contrast with brain, suggesting a distinction between physical and intellectual capability: The job requires more brawn than brains.

In British usage, brawn is also a cold cut made from the meat of a pig's head set in gelatin—what Americans call head cheese.

Someone described as brawny has well-developed muscles and appears physically powerful.
