horse rider
One astride steed
A horse rider is a person who rides a horse, whether for transportation, sport, recreation, or work.
The term is somewhat redundant since rider alone often implies horseback riding, but horse rider serves to distinguish from motorcycle riders, bicycle riders, and the like.
She's been a horse rider since childhood.
The more formal term is equestrian, which covers all horse-related activities and competitors.
