shoulder-in
Angled dressage movement
Shoulder-in is a dressage movement where a horse travels forward along a track while bent slightly away from the direction of movement, with its inside shoulder brought toward the center of the arena.
The horse moves on three tracks—inside foreleg, outside foreleg with inside hind leg, and outside hind leg.
It develops balance, suppleness, and engagement: We worked on shoulder-in at the trot today.
