homozygous
Same alleles both
Homozygous describes an organism having two identical copies of a gene at a particular location on paired chromosomes—one inherited from each parent.
The opposite is heterozygous, where the two copies differ.
The child was homozygous for the recessive trait.
In genetics, homozygosity determines whether recessive traits are expressed.
