dominant traits
Genetically expressed features
Dominant traits are genetic characteristics that appear when an organism inherits even one copy of the relevant gene variant from either parent.
In classical genetics, dominant traits mask recessive ones: Brown eyes are dominant over blue.
The concept extends loosely to any inherited characteristic that tends to express itself strongly across generations.
