homebrewing
DIY beer making
Homebrewing is the practice of making beer, wine, cider, or other alcoholic beverages at home rather than purchasing them commercially.
The hobby involves fermenting ingredients like malted grains, hops, yeast, and water, often with specialized equipment ranging from basic kitchen supplies to elaborate setups.
Homebrewing became legal in the United States in 1978 and has since grown into a popular pursuit with its own culture of recipe sharing and competitions.
I got into homebrewing during the pandemic and now I make my own IPAs.
