holiday pay
Time-off compensation
Holiday pay is wages paid for time off during official holidays, or premium pay for working on those days.
Some workers receive their regular salary even when the workplace closes; others get extra compensation—often time-and-a-half or double time—for holiday shifts: The job offers holiday pay for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
