vandal
Deliberate property destroyer
A vandal is someone who deliberately damages or destroys property, especially public property or things of beauty.
The word carries connotations of senseless destruction rather than theft or purposeful damage: Vandals spray-painted graffiti on the memorial.
The term extends to anyone who defaces or ruins something through carelessness or malice: Some vandal scratched my car in the parking lot. (Capitalized Vandal refers to the ancient Germanic tribe.)
