loremaster
Scholar of legends
A loremaster is someone with deep knowledge of a particular body of tradition, history, or mythology—especially in fantasy settings.
The term appears in games like Dungeons & Dragons and World of Warcraft, where loremasters are characters or players who have mastered the backstory and legends of fictional worlds: The loremaster recounted the ancient wars between elves and dragons.
Outside gaming, it can describe any devoted keeper of specialized knowledge.
