guard post
Watchman's assigned position
A guard post is a location where sentries or security personnel are stationed to monitor access or watch for threats.
It may be a physical structure—a booth, tower, or checkpoint—or simply an assigned position: The soldier reported to his guard post at dawn.
Guard posts appear at military installations, borders, gated communities, and anywhere controlled entry matters.
