stationed
Put in place
Stationed means assigned to a particular place for duty or work, typically used of military personnel or officials: He was stationed in Germany for three years, Guards were stationed at every entrance.
The word implies being posted somewhere by authority rather than choosing to be there.
Something stationary that's been deliberately positioned can also be stationed: Cameras stationed throughout the building.
