national borders
Lines between nations
National borders are the boundaries that mark where one country ends and another begins.
These lines—sometimes following rivers, mountain ranges, or arbitrary coordinates—determine which government has authority over a territory and who can legally cross.
Border disputes arise when nations disagree about where the line falls.
The refugees waited at the national border for permission to enter.
