A hangar is a large building for housing aircraft.
The word applies to structures ranging from small private shelters to massive industrial facilities capable of holding jumbo jets: The plane was wheeled into the hangar for maintenance.
Hangars typically feature wide doors and high ceilings to accommodate wingspan and tail height.
