grout lines
Between the tiles
Grout lines are the narrow channels between tiles, filled with grout to seal joints and prevent moisture penetration.
The term refers both to the spaces themselves and to the visible strips of hardite material after grouting: The grout lines in the bathroom need resealing.
Dirty or discolored grout lines are a common cleaning challenge.
