silicone sealant
Waterproof gap filler
Silicone sealant is a flexible, waterproof material used to fill gaps and joints in construction and repair work.
It cures to a rubbery consistency and resists moisture, mold, and temperature extremes, making it common around bathtubs, windows, and plumbing fixtures: I ran a bead of silicone sealant around the shower door.
Unlike silicone caulk, which is the same product, the term sealant emphasizes its sealing function.
