glioblastoma

Aggressive brain tumor

Glioblastoma is an aggressive and fast-growing cancer that develops in the brain or spinal cord from glial cells, which normally support and protect neurons.

It is the most common and most lethal primary brain tumor in adults, with a median survival of around 15 months even with treatment.

The tumor infiltrates surrounding brain tissue, making complete surgical removal virtually impossible.

The scan revealed a glioblastoma in the right frontal lobe.
