contrast enhancement
Making differences clearer
Contrast enhancement is the process of increasing the difference between light and dark areas in an image, making details more visible.
In photography and digital imaging, it adjusts tonal range so shadows appear darker and highlights brighter: The radiologist applied contrast enhancement to better see the tumor margins.
Medical imaging also uses contrast agents—injected substances that make certain tissues stand out on scans.
