remission
Symptoms fade away
Remission is a lessening or abatement of something undesirable.
In medicine, remission refers to a period when a disease's symptoms diminish or disappear: Her cancer has been in remission for three years.
The word also applies to the forgiveness of sins or debts, and to the reduction of a prison sentence.
To remit is to send payment or to pardon.
