surface tension
Water's elastic membrane
Surface tension is the property of a liquid's surface that causes it to behave like an elastic membrane, allowing it to resist external force.
It results from molecules at the surface being pulled inward by cohesive forces.
Surface tension lets insects walk on water and causes water to bead on surfaces: The surface tension held the needle afloat.
