forking
Dividing into paths
Forking describes something that splits into branches or paths: a forking road, forking lightning.
In software development, forking refers to creating an independent copy of a project's source code to develop it separately: The community ended up forking the project after disagreements over its direction.
As British slang, forking is a mild euphemism for fucking: I'm forking exhausted.
