latrine

Outdoor military toilet

A latrine is a toilet, especially a communal one in a military camp or other basic facility.

The word implies something more primitive than a bathroom—often a pit or trench: The soldiers dug latrines at the edge of camp.

In civilian use, latrine sounds either military or deliberately crude.
