eyeline
Where vision travels
Eyeline is the direction a person's gaze travels, particularly in film and photography.
Maintaining consistent eyelines between shots creates the illusion that characters are looking at each other: The director adjusted her eyeline so it would match the reverse shot.
In everyday use, eyeline can simply mean the level or path of someone's vision: A truck blocked my eyeline.
