stare
Gaze without blinking
To stare is to look fixedly at something for an extended time.
A stare can express curiosity, hostility, attraction, or blankness: She stared at him in disbelief.
A blank stare shows no emotion or comprehension.
To stare someone down is to out-stare them until they look away.
The answer was staring me in the face means it was obvious but overlooked.
